The Impressionist was reading his Times on line earlier (well, it's free) when he noticed the leader article about banning plastic bags in Zanzibar.
Apparently, the «Old Stone Town» in the Pwani Region of Tanzania, and birthplace of Freddie Mercury, has outlawed the possession of the humble plastic bag - you know, the sort that everyone uses to take their shopping home in ... and that end up littering beauty spots the world over. Offenders face a jail sentence of 6 months and a fine of $2000 (£1000).
Whilst this online article took a positive slant on all the good work done so far in eliminating the plastic bag, the Google ads showed where the real priorities of web page article writers lie. The Ads by Google section read «... We supply printed carrier bags ...»; «... Carrier bag manufacturer ...», and so on.
The Impressionist looks forward to reading articles about the preservation of the Orang Utan paid for with Google Ads for forest clearing equipment and bush meat.

PS - I noticed that those sharp-eyed admasters at Google have spotted the words «carrier bag» and the Google ads for this item now show carrier bags!
