What's In A Chart? Most cross stitch patterns are supplied on paper in booklet or leaflet form; some charts come as chart packs - individual sheets in a display bag and these can be convenient as you can work from a single sheet easily attached to your chart holder. These types of chart are delivered by airmail to you if you live outside the UK.Many people now download their cross stitch patterns direct to their own home computer. This has the advantage of not having to wait for the mail and giving you a chart that can be magnified on your screen without loss of clarity. You can print out your chart on your own printer page by page as you work through it. If you'd like to try downloading a free chart for yourself ... Click here for a FREE sample to try for yourself! Profile - Donna VermillionVermillion Stitchery with designer Donna Vermillion Giampa has a large portfolio of classical cross stitch designs. Donna Vermillion has been creating needle works of art since 1980. Her wide range of work has appeared in Janlynn kits, Leisure Arts and ASN leaflets, Sudberry House kits, and in the magazines and books of leading publishers like Just Cross Stitch and Better Homes and Gardens. It is estimated that her versatile talents have created close to 1,300 designs over the past 20 years - an average of 65 per year. The close shading of her designs makes the resulting pictures very realistic and her designs rely more on colour than on metallic threads and beads. Their patterns are clear and in black and white and they list the yardage needed of each thread. The complexity of their shading means they do use rather a lot of shades. For this reason we would consider these charts more suited to intermediate or advanced stitchers. In their range, there are birds, cats, flowers, samplers and we have chosen a selection from their Christmas range: stockings, bell pulls and banners. If you prefer classical cross stitch designs then these will suit you well. |
