Zarza graduated in 1972 from the French school of industrial design, the Ecole nationale des arts appliqués a l'industrie, then studied for two years at the major French art school, the Ecole des Beaux-Arts.
A lover of nature and the countryside, he soon became known for his original compositions (Salon des ateliers d'art Exhibition, 1985).
He loves to experiment and is as skilled in airbrushing as in painting on silk.
