This celtic knot is formed by intertwining two loops with no ends. This attractive design is worked in only two shades, and being square would be ideal for a cushion.
Assisi work is slightly different from cross stitch designs in that the background is coloured and the unstitched fabric forms the motif. The outline is worked first either in backstitch or more usually in double running stitch.
