The patterns by Stephanie Seabrook Hedgepath vary in style showing different breeds of shire horses at work and resting. The large scale black white and red charts are printed 10 stitches to approximately one inch. Equivalences are give in DMC, Anchor and Coats cottons for the shades used. The models were stitched on 14 count Aida in varioues shades except Percheron which was stitched on 20 count fabric. Belgian Team - Samson & Delilah (as illustrated) - the head and shoulders of these golden cart horses are worked in cross stitch and backstitch over 100 by 97 stitches; At the Water Cooler - shows a horse drinking from the river while his driver rests on the bank and this design almost completely cover the 110 by 102 stitches of the fabric; Percheron - the black horse in harness is worked over 99 by 109 stitches; Clydesdale Team - shown pulling a plough is worked over 103 by 98 stitches; Old Fashioned Percheron - this handsome animal with the decorated mane has a stitch count of 97 by 89.
