A warm welcome to our September 2024 newsletter.
This month we're trying out a new email format and it's been difficult to check so we hope it displays properly on your device. Please let us know how you get on!
We may owe you an apology. During testing a few days ago Jim pressed the wrong button and a lot of faulty newsletters were sent out before he could stop them. Aren't modern computers fast!
If you received one then please accept our apologies. Jim has now been sentenced to three years hard labour for supplying online misinformation.
In this month's newsletter we have kits from Bothy Threads and Heritage Crafts and (after a long wait) the new pattern from Mirabilia.
Kits
The ever-productive Bothy Threads have brought out a
complete catalogue in case you prefer any we've missed.
We have two new matching
Pretty to Think So (illustrated) arrived this week - better late than never - but it will be a few more weeks to wait for the bead pack.
Kreinik
We're told that Kreinik metallic floss is back in production under its new owners. There have been changes to the packaging (and probably the prices too!) which our supplier will announce when they receive new stocks.
Magnifica
Unfortunately Magnifica beads by Mill Hill are still not in production even though there are some in embellishment packs for Mirabilia and Nora Corbett designs.
We know this is a problem for customers who wish to stitch the Reindeer Couriers by Nora Corbett as most of those do have Magnifica beads. The packs have been unavailable for some time and there's no sign that this will change.
You might consider substituting glass seed beads for Magnifica if you're getting desperate. We're always happy to help if you're unsure.
And Finally
Our title this month is from the journals of Virginia Woolf (English writer 1882-1941).
"Lovely are these autumn days on the heath; the gorse is still as smooth as silk, & the air fragrant. I had almost said, regretful, as though there were some tinge of melancholy in its sweetness. All the months are crude experiments out of which the perfect September is made." - Virginia Woolf, from her 1905 Journal the Lands End: To The Lighthouse
We hope you have a perfect September and we look forward to seeing you again next month.
