Greetings from a slightly damp Scotland with a warm welcome to our June 2025 newsletter!
As usual we have added lots of new goodies and you can see the new kits
here.
We've got a lot of different topics to cover this time!
UK Postage
It looks like Royal Mail have hiked their prices yet again. A first class large letter weighing less than 100 grams now costs £3.05.
Just 10 years ago this was 95p. We still charge the old price of £2.50 but we can't afford to do this for much longer.
Unfortunately, even one skein of thread requires a large letter (because it's more than 5mm thick).
So to reduce costs we're thinking of sending small packages in Britain by
second class mail instead of first class.
What do you think?
Would an extra day or two's wait be a problem if you ordered just a few skeins of floss?
Please let us know!
Kits
We've added some lovely new kits from Polish company Merejka including Santa's Little Helper (illustrated) - which sold out almost immediately. Christmas just comes earlier each year!
We've ordered more and they should be in soon
current Bothy catalogues.
Floss Organisers
We found another new
Lady Antheia by Bella Filippina.
Magnifica Beads
Unfortunately Mill Hill Magnifica bead packs are
still not available separately even though some do turn up in embellishment packs.
Rainbow Gallery and Kreinik
We should have a delivery next week from Rainbow Gallery - who now also manufacture Kreinik braid. They still seem to be having serious production problems and we're expecting only about two thirds of the floss we ordered!
We'll have to wait to see what turns up but if you want to keep an eye out then the places to look are
here for Kreinik.
And Finally
From a kinder and gentler age this month's title comes via a poem by James Whitcomb Riley, an American poet who lived from 1849 to 1916
«
When June is here--what art have we to sing
The whiteness of the lilies midst the green
Of noon-tranced lawns? Or flash of roses seen
Like redbirds' wings? ...
»
We hope your own June is as kind, gentle, sunny and productive - as the June the poet enjoyed.
