This creepy sampler by Cheryl Granda is based on the short story by Washington Irving. Worked on dark grey fabric it has borders of bats, skulls and pumpkins.
The large scale black and white charts are printed 10 stitches to one inch on seven A4 pages. The pattern is worked in cross stitch and backstitch using 36 shades of stranded cottons, Kreinik #4 very fine braid in three colours, three packs of Mill Hill beads and one skein of Caron Waterlilies. The stitch count is 168 by 246 and the model was stitched on 28 count Cashel using Anchor stranded cottons. Equivalences are given for DMC and Sullivans USA.
There is a misprint on the chart Kreinik #4 cord 105C - Antique Silver should read Kreinik #4 very fine braid 105C - Antique Silver.
The model was stitched on 28 count Cashel Hand dyed fabric from Picture This Plus was used for this design. We are unable to offer the specific fabric and offer a suggestion in plain fabric of 28 count linen by Permin of Copenhagen CL076L/112 silver blue.
