We've been experiencing a lot of supply problems from the European Union recently every week seems to bring in some new rule or regulation which causes freight or Customs delays ... or worse.
We hope things will improve as politicians run out of ideas for silly new rules!
There's not as much to say as we'd like since our deliveries have been a little sparse recently ... so let's get started.
Plastic Canvas
The long established maker of plastic canvas, Darice, closed a few years ago and we haven't been able to find a replacement up until now.
Bella Filipina's latest design Julia, the Firefly Princess is a very pretty lady. Perhaps it's no coincidence that designer 'Drin has a young niece of the same name!
His next design is apparently Jasmine from Aladdin so we're curious to find out what the famously litigious Disney Corporation will have to say!
Mirabilia have increased the cost of both their Mirabilia patterns and their Nora Corbett designs. The price increases will filter through as we receive patterns at the new prices.
Mill Hill Beads and treasures are also increasing in price which will also affect embellishment packs.
Long established Danish maker Permin are the first to release a New Year Collection with cartoons, witty designs and Easter items.
From England, Bothy Threads' first collection of the year will be available from the 6th February. There are new designs from old favourites like Wrendale, Margaret Sherry, Beryl Cook ... and a few surprises.
From the Netherlands, Thea Gouverneur's sons have released their own catalogue under the brand name Dutch Stitch Brothers with some interesting designs and which are less challenging than those of their mother!
Our title this month is from a short and optimistic poem called The Brook in February' by Sir Charles George Douglas Roberts, a Canadian poet who lived between 1860 and 1943.
«A snowy path for squirrel and fox,
It winds between the wintry firs.
Snow-muffled are its iron rocks,
And o'er its stillness nothing stirs.
